Long time coming...

I know it's been a long time, but E3 2018 is almost over and we have a release date for KH3...

January 29, 2019.
Yes, the release date for this year was broken and we won't get it this year.
Yes, the trailers show that Aqua is now a Heartless after prolonged exposure to the Darkness. :(
(Either that or worse, she's now one of Xehanort's Seekers of Darkness. Either way, Sora will probably have to defeat her in combat.)

I have decided to create a mini-blog showing my progress on platinuming every major title in the Kingdom Hearts series at long last in prep for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III trophy list. I was avoiding this because those games are challenges to 100%, but I will do it for the sake of readers.

Kingdom Hearts 3 release year confirmed

So after a long hiatus on this blog, I have been lacking in motivation to play the games, but now I do:

Kingdom Hearts 3 = Out next year

Yep, at the Disney D23 Expo, which is all things Disney, you had to expect some Kingdom Hearts news(after all, they own the rights to the games) but this is new: There had been summoning code in KH2 for Woody and Buzz Lightyear, the heroes of the Toy Story movies, but progress was cut because of time limits. Now they finally have a more prominent role in their own world. Yep, we will be visiting Andy's house in Toy Story lore.

I have seen some of the original Toy Story movie (mainly the ending - "I wasn't aiming for the truck." ^_^ ) but didn't really like the movies in general as they were a bit too G-rated for my tastes. However, Kingdom Hearts made animated movies that creeped me out(The Little Mermaid and The Lion King) palatable so why not Toy Story? Now that Kingdom Hearts 3 is in ADHD(thanks to the Unreal 4 Engine), Pixar films are no longer sacred cows for the franchise. Will we expect a Finding Nemo world?

HELL NO. Not if those who hate The Little Mermaid now because of Kingdom Hearts' treatment of the underwater genre did to it. :(

But there are a lot of Pixar Films.

So the world we know will be playable are Twilight Town(due to trailers), Hercules' world for the umpteenth time(but it'll be a lot bigger than before and we'll get an actual epic battle with Rock Titan instead of the joke he was in the Hades Cup back in vanilla KH), the Tangled world, Big Hero 6's world, and now Toy Story's world.

Will there be more worlds? Well, considering that every world is now sixty times more explorable than before(after all, Aqua's time in the Realm of Darkness in 0.2 was rumored to be as big as a world in KH3 and that took a long time to complete!), the ratio will be different so there may not be as many worlds as in Kingdom Hearts 2, but there will be a few more worlds, including the "Chain Town" that was supposedly leaked where Sora and his Disney buddies get acquainted with, and hopefully a revisit to Radiant Garden as it gets rebuilt. But I am pleased with what they showed, especially at the end with Sora and Saix facing off. (Or is that Young Xehanort?)

I am going to busy myself getting some of the platinum trophies for the Kingdom Hearts series before New Years. Have a Happy Heartless Hunting! :D

R U SERIOUS, SQUEENIX?!!?

I have only one thing to say to Square-Enix...

They do not know the PAIN I had to go through to get the Birth by Sleep Final Mix platinum. X(

But in all seriousness, when I got the announcement that Square-Enix would be remastering the entire Kingdom Hearts series on PS4, I was not surprised. To be honest, I had wanted a full collection myself, and if I wasn't having trouble platinuming the games on PS3, I would gladly go for this. I've survived what many consider the hardest Kingdom Hearts plat, so I can do it again on HD.

A few things I'd like to see fixed - I might spam Square-Enix's forums to ensure they are hearing this:

1. Fix the difficulty trophies in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Re:Chain of Memories so they stack. You allow people to get away with platinuming the 2.5 games(KH2 and BBS Final Mix) by completing Critical Mode, please please PLS let us get all the difficulty trophies by just completing Proud Mode on the 1.5 games! It gets dull to do the exact same motions THRICE (and Riku AND Sora mode THRICE on Re:Chain on Memories!) just to get all the trophies.
2. Please make Ice Cream Beat tolerable. I am not saying you should hold our hand through the entire Master Mode set, but make the hit boxes a little more reasonable. I have bitten my arm multiple times(yes, I do bite my arm when I am very angry) after failing to get Fantastic on Dessert Paradise just because I have poor hand-eye coordination. :(
3. In retrospect, you showed off gameplay on 358/2 Days and Re:coded. As much as I don't believe it'll ever happen, I'd love to see remasters of the full games of those two titles. I know that would mean that the supposed fan remake of 358/2 Days will have to be shut down, but it would show Square-Enix that, despite those two games getting low sales, there are some people (like me) who enjoyed playing them.

All in all, here is hoping for the best.
